TAROT CARD SPREADS GUIDE

Six spreads, from a quick three-card pull to the full Star of David — each with its layout, what it's for, and how to read it.

🏹ARROW OF TIME SPREAD

This is one of the most common tarot spreads that a reader will use, even if they tend to stay away from formal spreads. The Arrow of Time spread reveals linear progression. To thoroughly analyze any development, we must examine the past (causes), present (current status), and future (trends).

Recommended for

Any developmental issue requiring progression analysis

Key Interpretation

  • Presents linear development (past → present → future)
  • Cards must be read as interconnected narrative, not isolated
  • Past shows root causes, present reveals current status, future indicates potential outcomes
  • Essential for comprehensive analysis of causal relationships

SACRED TRIANGLE SPREAD

The Sacred Triangle displays cyclical evolution. Unlike linear progression, it reveals how ‘future becomes past’ and ‘past becomes future’ in continuous loops. The present anchors the reading — examine past’s past (future) to identify causes, and future’s future (past) to understand potential outcomes. Maintains focus on how status quo perpetuates patterns.

Cyclical developmental issues

Key Interpretation

  • Represents cyclical development (water element symbolism)
  • “Future’s future is past, past’s past is future” — circular causality
  • Present remains central focal point
  • To understand causes, examine past’s past (future); to predict outcomes, study future’s future (past)
